The South did not have enough resources so they had to wait until they could go back and get more supplies. The workers were a big help because Tunney could help make railroad tracks.
North: Industry
The Northern economy was based on the industrial revolution. The Northern states had a lot more factories and workers during the civil war. The Union's resources were a lot more than the South because of the North has an industry. The 90th percent of the nation's manufacturing comes from the north in 1860. Many Northern farmers were out- producing the Southern state because the workers started to make rail roads, factories, and banks. the production grew by 1860. The transportation was overflowing, and much industrial growth happened in 1860. |

It also made it go faster to make more clothes. the warmer th days were the more farming could be done easier. not many people thouht they needed an industry because the agriculture was so great they didn't need it at all. really the south needed an industry because it could help them makethings quickly. |
